agv helmet visor coating on the inside?

cleaned my new agv visor on the inside and outside and noticed some weird coating inside peeling off..

any ideas what this is?

anti fog insert?

Peel off.

Buy Pin-lock kit and fit.
Or buy pin-lock visor.
No pin-lock is dire. If you ride in inclement weather's.

hmm seems to work for anti fogging, breathing out hard on it last night and not an ounce of fogging

Did you use Flash bathroom cleaner or something?

I've had several AGV lids and a few extra visors and never seen anything like this.
I regularly clean both sides of my visor too with warm water and sponge.

I'm with Liam, what did you use to clean it?

I clean my visor with fresh water only, and if it requires a bit more, I use hand soap. The worst thing to use is a dish detergent, bath room detergent and other stuff of this sort.

The salt is sodium and is dissolved in the detergent.
It improves wetting.

But since most salts are corrosive they can harm sensitive surfaces.

I do not think dish detergent would eat a coating like that so easily.

Coatings are more likely damaged by alcohols or other spirits.

I used Hein Gerike Lens Cleaning Spray on my Pin-Lock. Unbeknowenst to me there is an anti-fog coating on the inside of the pin-lock insert. The Hein Gerrike cleaner destroyed the coating.

I think the offending culprit was the Isopropyl alcohol in the spray.

I also had a Posh pair of Uvex wrap-a-round safety specs that I used a 'specs-cleaner' to clean.
I noticed that the tint disintegrated a few days using the work's cleaner.

I contacted Uvex who asked what cleaner I used?
And they said, 'Uvex cleaners are designed to clean but not destroy the coatings of their specs.'
