When I place the negative connector to the negative point on my battery, the indicator on my charger would light up for a second, then go out. I can tap the connector on the point continuously and it'll light up and go out.
The points have been cleaned, I don't think that the battery is completely dead as the indicator on my charger would light up.

any suggestions?

What is the problem?
Are you charging the battery on or off the bike?

Charger FUBAR.

Check it on a 'good' battery.

Or if you have a multimeter check the volts output and or the amps output.

The charger drops 220v AC down to charging voltage 6V, 12V, 24V etc. and also converts to DC.

Rectifier or resistor or something could be fookid.

Check the battery voltage first. If it's badly discharged then a smart charger won't work properly - it's possible to trick the charger into starting up by putting a good battery in parallel with the flat one if this is the case.

I'm charging off the bike.
I have checked my charger against another battery and it charges just fine, so it must be an issue with the battery itself.

Its either (a) the charger
or (b) the battery

Youve checked the charger - so its (b).
