....between cars and bikes
I have driven a car for over 10 years and recently have been riding a bike.
I certainly prefer the bike but something puzzled me. on getting back in the car I suddenly found I could not drive fast country roads anymore..
The difference I think is that when taking a corner in the car at speed
G forces push you sideways through your seat, whilst on a bike, when you lean in to a corner these forces are not apparent.
any thoughts or experiences regards this ____________________ https://domharnessphotography.webs.com |

No, cars are not as exciting as bikes yet have their use's for those of us old enough to have to take the wife shopping or the kids on holiday etc etc etc..
this was not a question as to which is better more a thought provocation as to the physics of each. ____________________ https://domharnessphotography.webs.com |

it does not bother me either I simply find it of interest that the angle I lean in to a corner whilst on a bike not only keeps the speed up but feels so smooth. in comparison a car feels like cornering a old three legged elephant.. ____________________ https://domharnessphotography.webs.com |

I drove a toyota supra that had about 430 BHP and it felt pretty awesome I could short shift from 3rd into 4th at about 4500rpm with my foot flat and not have to worry about the front coming up just a mean rear end slide for a few seconds as the clutch bit in still that was a bloody expensive customised car and it still wouldn't give me a bigger smile than the smile I get when I am on my bike I just love the damn thing! |

Cornering technique is different between cars and bikes.
In a car you start turning the wheel before the corner.
This may sound odd but try it.
This turns the car in earlier and keeps the car smoother (flatter), less shaking for the driver/passengers. You can then set to accelerate out of the corner easier. Oh, and that's not my technique. It's from Jackie Stewart, a man who knows a little about driving
I find on a bike I turn in a lot later than when in a car. To me this has the advantage that I can see more of the bend. There are some on the back roads that look horrendous but when you get there are nothing more than a slight kink in the tarmac.
Just my worth. ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...
