Hi guys,

So finally after fixing bike she has now presented another issue 😭. The rear shock on my 04 R6 has some weird bounce! Anyway, I will try Ro explain as best I can. Basically, the shock is functional soaking up bumps but as the shock returns back to normal position it has a knocking sound. Shock compresses fine but upon return it just stops dead like it is hitting on something it is more noticeable when mounting and dismounting the bike. I've looked all around and nothing is in its way chain and wheel are adjusted correctly, I've adjusted pre load in every position but still does it. My only thought is that the shock is failing or completely broken. Can someone suggest something that i maybe missing or o's it a simple case of needing a new one?

Replacing would be an improvement anyway most likely.
It sounds pooped, and could been hazardous when riding.

You're talking about rebound, so I'd see what happened if I adjusted the rebound damping. Also consider the suspension linkages and bearings. Is it the right shock for the bike?
