I'm now an A2 Licence holder!
No more riding illegally!

Problem is I'll need to get my ZXR400 restricted. It's never been restricted before. Does the insurance company need to see the restriction certificate? Is there any way round this?

Cheers, Sharaz

i had my gsxr400 restricted at a cost of 150 pounds.

if you live near macclesfield then i can give you the name and number of the place where i had it done.

the insurance company didnt ask to see my certificate

but if you take your restricters out then your insurance isnt worth the paper it is written on and you are then riding without a valid license

you cant argue this fact

bike looks nice b.t.w

Yeah well done Thumbs Up , sexy bike ya got there Wink such a shame to restrict it Crying or Very sad Razz i'm not sure how the restriction thing works, if you tell the insurance you just passed they may ask if its restricted and if so to see the certificate, if they don't ask then its down to them i guess, could be wrong Question

Well done on passing. Thumbs Up

Some insurance companies do ask for them, and others don't ever ask for them. Was never asked for on ZX6R and TL1000R (when I was renewing my insurance on the ZX6R they asked me if my CBT was still valid:lol:) and was never asked for them by police, was stopped by a bike cop who didn't know about the 33bhp stuff. Probably worth getting the restrictors fitted so you have the paperwork so in the event of a claim (when they're most likely to ask for the proof) you have it to show them. Do know people who have had claims and havn't been asked for proof, despite the restrictors being under the seat Laughing.

If you take them out then there is very little chance (well thats my opinion really) of being caught, but there is still the chance of being caught and being slightly fucked due to not having valid insurance, and being done for riding without a license and without insurance, so just be aware of the possible risk before doing it.

Going 2 fast, the test costs £48.

Well done mate. Good to see another local 400 rider. Where in Edinburgh are you based?

HEEEEYYYY, I didn't know there was anyone else from Edinburgh on this forum! Actually I live just outside Edinburgh, in Livingston, but go through to Edinburgh pretty much every day. Only for another week though, because then uni starts and I'm back up to Aberdeen. Rolling Eyes

Yeah, there's a small group of us. If you go to the main page of the forum and scroll down to the bottom you'll see the Scottish section. You should pop in and say hello.

I'm actually in Falkirk myself but I work in Edinburgh.
