Hi, i have read a few posts about modding the inlets on the airbox of the rs. I fancy a go at it as long as i don't need to rejet an stuff. Anyone know the way? ps i will report back about how the bike rides with the grey wire loop under the seat disconnected so the pv opens 300rpm earlier. Happy riding (i'm off to work now) Mad half day though Very Happy !!

I believe the airbox mod was only of use when using a 34mm carb, not the standard one.

Hi

Think that on some bikes half of the "snorkal" which is the airbox intake is blocked up. Probably worth removing this blockage. Keep the snorkal as it is likely that even though this reduces the area into the airbox slightly it also improves air flow.

All the best

Keith

If you are moddifying the airbox to get more power you are letting the engine get more air. This means you have to rejet otherwise the engine will run lean resulting in nastyness like holed pistons.

more air=more fuel =more power.
