I've got a gsxr srad 600. Carbs were totally rebuilt last year. Bike starts and runs yet when the carb tune pro is connected there's literally nothing no reading at all?

I've checked double checked and triple checked and cannot for the life of me find out why.

If you turn the carb tune pro upside down you do get a little reading bit nothing worth writing home about.

Any ideas?

I take it this is carb balancing gear? You're only measuring vacuum pressure so...

There is no pressure Smile Well, none to measure so that would hint at a blockage somewhere in the chain. Either the port on the carbs, the pipes or... the gauges are knackered Sad All of 'em?! I'm assuming there's four?

Simple tests for almost any equipment: try it on another bike or borrow kit to test on your bike and see which of the two is "at fault."

This is a Morgan Carbtune yeah?

Have you tried sucking on the pipes to create your very own vacuum?

So today I refitted the carb tune pro. I tried it without the restricted in and the bars did move but barely. With them fitted it doesn't even register.

I tried sucking on the pipes and the bars move perfectly .

I removed the pipes from the carb tune whilst engine was running and there was definitely vacuum on all four cylinders.

I'm at a total loss now?? Any ideas?

Crap seal between the pipes and the carbs.

Evening,
Would an incorrectly set up bank of carbs cause this issue? I.e if it's running rich or lean?

I'm at a loss now and figure this could possibly be a cause

Did you rebuild the carbs last year?
Is this the first time you've used carb balancers?

If the bike runs then you have a vacuum, as per Nobby, it is going to be an issue between the carb ports and the balancer.
Check that the pipes are tight at the balancer end, ideally the vacuum taps should be closed when you start up the bike and then open them up gradually to get a steady reading and, lastly, how have you connected the pipes to the carb ports? Those are the only three areas that can give grief.

Can you put up a pic of the set up in situ?
