iits a 14 plate with 5000 miles on it
its been stood for a few months...
the guy I brought it from says it ran fine but when you dip the clutch the revs drop ( like stopping at lights or junctions) and they drop too far and cut out.... and it would start back up straight away..
he got a new bike so never fixed it

i assumed it was the idle setting or the carb needed adjusting
key in ignition and the displays and clocks n lights all work fine
nut not enough power in battery to turn it over

i drained the tank and carb of the old fuel (smelt really weak) and put fresh fuel in.... oil looks fine
new ngk sparkplug.. seems to be sparking fine (old spark plug was dirty black colour)
flat battery so i used jumper cables from my car battery with the car engine off ( both batterys at 12 v.. utube says this is fine)

turns over and seems to have descent compression but it just doesnt fire up

i need help
any advice would be hugely apreciated

or anyone in nottingham ide be happy to pay u to fix it

When you say “dip the clutch” you mean pull the clutch lever in?
Are you rolling off the throttle once you have pulled in the clutch, and does the engine cut out when you roll off the throttle.?

Or is the engine cutting out at any time you pull in the clutch lever?

I had an issue with a bike cutting out every time the revs dropped and it turned out to be the valves were a little tight (closed).

Has it ever had a proper serbice as in had its tappets adjusted, and been given a new spark plug, not just the oil topped up?

Start there.

How did you clean the carb?
What condition was the diaphragm rubber and does the carb slide slowly return from the top position?

Please don't resurrect an old thread to ask a new question ... by the time everyone realises they are reading a year old thread, they'll be too fed up to bother answering your query.
