bike CBR 250r

bike runs fine, *however* seems to have an over heating issue,

i have followed the guide on flushing the radiator didn't help that much.

the thing that iam most concerned about is this when crusing on the freeway around 100-140 speed it seems to get worse. To the point where i have to have a time out and let the bike cool down some what. ( i thought on the freeway would over best chance of cooling down due to increased airflow.)

any ideas as to what the problem may be?
and how i can go about fixing it.

take off the thermostat , then run for a while . if you go fine then buy a new one . it's not necessary to change the seal , just put some loctite .

Try the thermostat thing but you may find that the head gasket is blowing and pressurising the coolant system, this is a fault that tends to show itself at higher rev speeds.

When it overheats, stop and quickly check the level in the expansion bottle, if it has filled up the bottle with coolant (possibly even overflowing), I would be very suspicious of the head gasket. You fix this by replacing it, which is a pain in the arse.

Question Describe what it happening. ''Seems to have an overheating issue'' is a bit vague its like saying 'my engine wont run properly'......everyone will try to help but you will get loads of wrong answers.

Why do you say its got a problem?

i thought i did i dont know how else i can put it, (when i say heating issue i mean the temp guage will red line if i dont stop)

the bike just seems to run hot especially when on the high way at higher revs eg, 10k and upwards, i have found if i get of the highway and take it easy around 8k revs it seems to cool down somewhat, however it still remains over 3/4 until i give the bike a complete break.

i haven't experinced and problems with the bike when it is running hot it seems to go ok, i havn't heard any strange noises.

Sounds like that Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

You may also find your coolant is turning darker also wich also points to head gasket. Thumbs Down
