I meant fit goes without saying. It's always my primary consideration. But yeah - this is just for road. So conspicuous, bright colour(s) would be a possible advantage - though then again, plain white is fine too. I just don't want any shit I'm never going to use like internal dark visors, that add weight and crap that can go wrong.
I never use vents either - not even through the hot weather last year. I'd prefer the money to be spent on quality shell, inner linings and decent visor material. Bells and whistles can fuck off. I don't need 'em. Plus I have this pet theory that because I rate quietness pretty high (do a lot of motorway miles these days, unfortunately), the more vents there are, the less aerodynamic the shell is, therefore the more wind noise will inevitably be created.
But it's surprisingly hard to find a lid that's very basic but really well made. There's stuff like Davida's Koura, which is tempting - but a bit dear, and in any case, might not fit me. ____________________ "Life is a sexually transmitted disease and the mortality rate is one hundred percent."

I have a Biltwell lid. (mine has permanently open vents that allow in WAY more air than any of my other 4 lids.)
The linings are okay but not as plush as some of my others, but suitable for the price point I'd say. They do a full range
of (non pinlock) visors too, in just about every colour you can get sunglasses in. You can buy a full range of spares
including new liners, and alternatively coloured hardware for not much dough. I bought some bronze visor pivot
hardware for mine ( basically a washer and a bolt ) a while back, tenner all in delivered from the US of A. I have plain,
yellow, silver mirrored and black visors for mine. All about £30 a pop. My lid, the "Lane Splitter" is pretty light weight too,
can't imagine the Gringo S or would be any different with regard to spares or build quality, I think the Biltwell lids are DOT/ECE
rated. Some people wear the plain Gringo which is sold visorless, Gringo S is the visored variant. double D
fastening on these BTW.
Heres mine.
