Hi new here, my dtr 125 would not start so first thing i did was check the spark plug, all seemed fine until I checked for a spark against frame and nothing.
Disconnected kill switch still nothing.
Checked cdi and stator and it’s getting power on a multimeter
So took it into garage, they told me that they got the bike started but there not sure how,
They messed around with some wires on the stand and looked at others around the bike,
The wirering isn’t great because the previous owner cut the side stand wires and left exposed, and it’s the same with indicator wires back and front
So I taped up many wires left exposed, re-connected the side stand wires and re-arranged the wiring with more space.
Bike was running fine with no problems for a few weeks,
Today on my way to work The bike would stop running every time I stopped at lights, so I would have to keep the Revs up in order for the engine to stay running, about 10 mins later it stopped running and would not start, took it home and it’s the same problem no spark.
sometimes I get a spark sometimes I don’t
Any ideas what this could be ? Thanks |

Also check your earthing points. Check them yourself. Mechanics can lie or be utter morons at testing.
You should be testing resistance across the 3 phases on the stator as per the manual. Also check the pick up coil for continuity.
The most obvious thing to check would be the sidestand switch. Then it could be stator, pick up coil, (both easy to check) coil, ( easy to check) lead or plug, then CDI, then wiring between the above. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.
