After taking the casing off the clutch side of the engine for a good ole clean up inside i removed the oil pump gear cog. Is it neccessary to align it with anything. I don't think so as it just drives the pump and water pump. Am i right or talking bollox again?Worried now, have not rode the bike yet but is on my mind now. eek Rolling Eyes

As long as you put it back how it went in then it should be fine, I guess it is the same as the NSR, it is just a driven nylon cog that sits on a shaft which goes into the pump?

Hi

Probably worth disconnecting the oil pump from the casing before you put the case back in place. The oil pump drive goes in a slot under the casing, so easier to make sure it engages properly if you are just putting the oil pump in after reattaching the casing.

All the best

Keith
