Hi everyone I’m looking for some help with my bike rather than going to the local rip off garage ..

I’ve had my bike outside over winter it wouldn’t start , cleaned up all the connectors and new battery and it ran but rough

It’s now garaged , cleaned up the connectors even more and done a oil and filter change , then I changed the plugs ..

The 3rd plug was stuck , felt seized so I sprayed some WD down there only a bit , left it 10 mins and then got it out ..

Put the 4 new plugs in ( the old ones was rusted and rotten )

The bike started right up ran better then cut out - it does this when cold and not kept revved up abit ...

So now after cutting out it won’t start , I noticed a pipe off under the air box I must of knocked off when messing with them plugs , I’ve not put it back on with a jubilee clip but still nothing .. it’s got a fully charged battery aswell . Any info would be much appreciated

"""Hi everyone I’m looking for some help with my bike rather than going to the local rip off garage .."""""

The bike is 24 years old so a rip off garage is out of the question.
Not worth much so sell it for spares and buy another bike.

There's a few keywords in there which set the alarm bells ringing.

First off, where did you source those new plugs? Fakes are now endemic in the marketplace & unless you are very particular where you get them from there is a high probability they're fake.

Standard diags proceedures should automatically kick in. Does the fuel flow? Does it spark? Is it a 'healthy' turnover on the button?

Is it flooded?

Is it fresh petrol?

Check all of those & if all check out fine it's time to distinguish between elektrikal gremlins & fuel fukwittery. Reach for your can of Easystart.

I can bet you £5 that standing outside over winter means the fuel went off & gummed up in your carbs. If the carbs have never been rebuilt since new then all of the internal NBR seals are fubar, the pilots are blocked & the float needles aren't seating.

But then this is the T'internets & it's probably your side stand switch or drive chain adjustment.
