I wouldn't use stainless. Given that they're in the line of fire of all of the salt and crap in the roads, you're asking for galvanic corrosion and galling which will be fun if you have to strip them down. Replace them with passivated high tensile bolts if you must.
You'll probably get away with replacing them one at a time, but don't complain if you do end up having to bleed the system.  |

I'd resist the urge to correct the issue, as you see it, if it is indeed purely cosmetic unless you have (a) a garage or (b) the money to put it into a shop.
I cleaned my rear brake one day, left the cover exposed at the rear overnight and came out the next to find that the brake pad retaining pin had some surface rust on it alongside some on the brake disc. There really is no winning at this time of year, and if need to work outside I especially wouldn't be attempting a change of fluid -- or risking a job that could lead to it.

Like 10k miles ago, but I've just rebuild the calipers on my gixxer as the pistons were ceased up. Really don't wanna go through all that again, at least not for a while.
Speaking of hammerite, I bought a tin yesterday, smooth black as so I could tidy my forks up. May not be a bad idea to give the bolts a quick rub down and paint over 'em. |
