Have you checked the fuses?

It could be the fuel cutoff relay.

Well you could always answer my question, does it have HISS on it and further questions have you ever had it running and if so are you using the normal key?

Is the kill switch in the on position?

The trick here is to answer the questions I ask as they are relevant and ignore any questions asked by Jaffa90.

You've got it in neutral, kickstand up, and killswitch set to run? Stupid questions, but always start with the basics Wink

On my Honda if I go to put it in gear and the stand's down it cuts out. So that's the neutral (or shift) sensor and kickstand switch it must be looking at.

Worth checking both of those switches/sensors and the associated wiring.

So now we know the basics.

The fuel pump should prime as soon as the ignition is on, this would be a combination of the key being turned on and the kill switch being turned on. Flicking the kill switch on and off a few times the pump will re-prime.

First thing to check is power is going through the kill switch. then that things like the side stand switch and the neutral switch are all working.

Other than when priming the fuel pump only gets power when the engine turns over so you need to connect a multi meter to the relay to check its getting power in and power out. Checking that there is power going to the relay will confirm if the HISS system is working, if it gets power it is, if not it isn't.

Also check there is a spark.

Should the HISS light on this model go out when the ignition is switched on and does it?

Has the chip fallen out of the key?

Is the antenna for the key chip still connected?

This suggests the reg/rec has died.
How exactly did you work out it was the diode? Without an obvious reg/rec failure this isn't something that anyone would check as they rarely if ever just fail.

Current? 9v? That's not how it works.
Current is measured in amperes (amps). Voltage is measured in, unsurprisingly, volts. There's also a good chance you are referring to a resistor and not a diode, but I CBA to look at schematics for bikes I don't own.

I suggest you learn a little more before lecturing people.
