I’m considering (due to this new time I find myself with!) replacing the front brake lines. There’s currently three, a short one from the master cylinder to a block behind the headlight and then two medium ones, obviously one to each calliper. I could replace like for like or equally just go for two long hoses from the master cylinder to each calliper.
What’s the pros and cons?
I’d imagine the two lines is cheaper as there’s less unions to be fitted, and maybe easier to bleed?
It’s a road bike, never used on the track for what it’s worth.
Thanks!

I think they are easier to bleed and give better performance all round.

Cons are all about routing of the hoses and clearance for the longer top banjo bolt.

I used Hel lines on mine which are pretty skinny, probably take up as much room as one rubber hose.

EDIT: The way I see it, the fewer joints, the less potential for trouble. You might want to keep the current setup if it's tight for space round the bars/top yoke.

My sprint has as standard one long pipe going to one caliper and then a second short pipe over the mud guard to the other caliper.

This is an option if space is at a premium.

I would guess probably the easiest to bleed as well.

Not necessarily, because you have an uphill bend in the hose.

I'll find out in a week or so when I get round to rebuilding the offside calliper which is attached to both pipes.
