Hi guys
I have this dd125e bike, the front engine mounting needed replacement. The frame lugs are about 20 mm or so out of alignment. Given what butchering the previous owner has done, I can't seem to trust what parts actually belong to it. He even tried to weld the exhaust pipe to the alloy head, that what kind of a dick had it. Its a 14 plate and it's in a sorry full state.[/img]

I've posted a pic of the offender, the question is....The bracket seems to be correct, I'm starting to question is the frame correct, but the vineyard no says yes.. so how is it that far out of alignment.
Any suggestions..
Thanks guys

I can't work out what's going on from that photo. I assume the two lugs pointing up and to the right are supposed to be bolted onto the engine. What's the big hole for?

Can you find any online photos or pictures of parts (eBay) that would help? Can you upload further pictures?

Any chance of a photo that doesnt look like it was taken by a 1970s Polaroid?

What your looking at is the old bracket. I have the new one but the problem is the same.
The bracket is notbyet bolted on. But you can see The two lugs where a bolt fixes it to the frame. Given that there is zero movement from the other mountings. How is it going to fit..i cant be sure anything is whatbit should be.
I am considering cutying the lugs off anc rewelding them back on.

Open to suggestions

Cheers

The big hole is where the rubber and bolt sleeve are.

So the two lugs pointing up/right bolt to the engine, so the whole thing turns on the other engine bolt, and the engine drops down so that the bolt/rubber sleeve (?) can go through and hold the thing onto the frame, is that it?

Edit: It would be nice to have another couple of snaps.

Yes the big hole holds the rubber and bolt sleeve. The four holes bolt to the engine.

So is the problem elsewhere? Is there a stay ataching the engine to top frame tube, for instance, that is wrong and holding the whole engine in the wrong place? Are the rear mounts correct?

Look at this frame, it looks as if there may be a top stay:

Hi
That frame is similar.where my lugs are they sit on a complete bar across left to rught as in pic.
Right now i dont know how to solve this...if the engine is wrong for the frame......maybe he blew up the engine.....until i can identify the engine...my only solution is reweld the lugs....it wont pass mot likebit is

Ill send some pics of the engine.

Hi guys
Hers an update, ...its confirmed I have an early engine in a late frame the mounting lugs have to be moved,,,,ajs said it's maybe a mk1, but that can't be as I have just fitted a twin carb to her, the mk1only has one. But the problem I have now is where do I take the vacuum from,,,,,mk has an egr valve,, so I'm guessing it's mk2 engine, but the head appears to be mk1, I guess they are compatabLe I don't know.
I could be wasting my time and money on this heinz 57, what do you think
