I've mentioned Tippetts being dropped as a Honda dealer and their statement, when I went in there: as long as you use manufacturer approved parts and consumables the warranty is fine. "BTW, all our mechanics are Honda trained!"
About the only way the manufacturers have got some wiggle room is to say that any work done has a VAT invoice. I dunno if that requirement has ever been tested in court but TBH, I'd let them have that. ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

In fairness to the manufacturers being faced with an engine that's failed because the oil's not been replaced (dodgy Dave said he did it but the numpty owner doesn't really know) and it all starts getting very awkward. Much simpler if their own lads do the work and then it's a nice simple equation. Oh, hoovering up overpriced work is just a happy coincidence, trust me
If the quality of work was always good and the prices reasonable (my Skoda dealer seemed to manage both okay) then no one would have need to test such presumptions in court but here we are. ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |
