Carbs not going wide open xj600

Hey all, noticed on my bike the carb butterflies dont open all the way. Is this normal?
Even if you push on the bit that the trhottle cable goes onto. Its a dead stop like its not supposed to open all the way.

There's normally some adjustment on the carb rack for balancing.. Perhaps you can get the to open more but you might affect the balance - .

Looks normal to me, although I can't get a clear idea of the angle, from that picture. Are your carbs Mikuni BDS26?

If you're in any doubt, just have a look. Take the airbox off, and push the throttle linkage as far as it will go. It has a limited arc of travel, by design. The butterflies should open almost to a 90-degree angle at max throttle. This won't happen if there's an obstruction (e.g. if you dropped a screw or something which is getting wedged in between the linkage pulley and its furthermost rest position).

Check that they all look roughly the same, and if they are, you're good to go. If not, they may be well out of balance. Set up properly, when they're all closed, they're not fully closed and when they're all open, they're not at a perfect 90 degrees.

So they are mikuni carbs, not sure what model.
And i can push on the throttle linkage and thats as far as they go.
The stupid picture wont load properly, but theyre about 90% open.
Its a dead stop i can feel, its not like the cable isnt allowing it. Its the carbs themselves i would say.

Ive not workes on bike carbs with this arrangement, but every other carb or throttle body i have seen will open all the way i.e. perpendicular.

She runs fine but i might have it off tommorow. Yes i would say at a glance the carbs seem balanced, they all travel the same amount

Generally there's a main idle screw and 'round the back' some more for fine tuning the individual carbs (Balancing) - although it's best to have a set of vacuum gauges for that.

As said that looks normal. My Suzuki gs650 does the same at wide open throttle .

SOLVED:
incase anyone ever has a similar problem. It was one of the clips for the carb mounting rubbers fouling one of the outer carbs

Its virtually impossible to see with the carbs on. But i noticed it was opening wider with the carbs off the bike
