Can't quite relate the service sheet diagrams to the carbs on the bike. I reckon the bike is all original and generally the carbs seem to be as per description however, the main jet and slow jet appear to be next to each other on the sheets but only the needle jet appears in my pics. I may be a bit more used to carbs from the 50's & 60's Rolling Eyes haha. So where does the slow jet emerge into the air stream? Surprised

There are 2 holes in the face of the air inlet, what do these do?

It can be a tiny pinhole. If you take the nozzle off and squirt carb cleaner up the jet directly from the can, it'll be obvious.

It's usually a tiny pinhole downstream from the butterfly/ slide.
The 2 holes. One is the air inlet for the slow running circuit, the other either feeds the air supply to the emulsion tube or is a vent for the float chamber ... it's probably the emulsion tube. thinking about it.

I've been riding, and fixing , bikes for 50 years, in that time the more I learn, the less I am absolutely sure of.....
