Hi there,

I've had my Aprilia Rs for about 8 years now, I must say I haven't used it for about 3 years now and sort of neglected it.
I thought I'd fix it up as it had a few issue's before. I've put a new battery on it and checked all fuses about 5 times, when I turn the ignition on, I'm getting no power what so ever. I've got a multimeter and checked that's there's power from the ignition, and earthing is fine, checked a lot of things, am I right in thinking, it could be the regulator please?

In need of some help if anyone could help please

The regulator only does anything once the engine is started so no.

No lights or anything but power to the ignition switch?

Is power coming back out of the switch?

Use your multimeter to verify that you have power to your fuse box.

Literally no power what so ever, no lights come on, absolutely nothing, I used the multimeter back to the ignition switch and that's all good, I will test if there's any power going to the fuse box and see what happens.

Thanks for helping as well

Might be a stupid question, but the battery is definitely connected the right way and actually has a charge in it?

Should at least have a neutral light. It only relies on the main power being on, fuse(s) intact and the battery earth connected to the frame and/or engine.

Is there a secondary fuse box anywhere, or some other inline fuse on the main circuit? Might be worth digging out a service manual online if you dont have one.

I looked at the ignition switch and unplugged it and there's power coming from there, I'll have a little look at the bike once I'm home after work, if I can I'll take a few pictures and a video of everything and post it on here

If you unplugged the ignotion and tested it you found power going to and not from the ignition switch. The two are not the same.

Just need a few new things and then hopefully it will start, does anyone know how to get the head off, I've taken the top bit and taken off the reeds and all the nuts but it won't budge. Sprayed WD40 over the bolts but it still won't budge

Just the main barrel I take it, you've had the 4 nuts off. Is the engine seized BTW?

I'd probably try and get the piston about half way up and give it some love taps with a rubber mallet from the intake and exhaust sides. DO NOT be tempted to jam a screwdriver between the barrel and the bottom end.

All off now, everything seems alright, just gonna order a new gasket set, for some reason though, every time I turn the ignition on, the 15 fuse keeps blowing, not to sure why that is, I need to go get some more fuses but it blew through 2 of them

Standing for years.
Wouldn't show any electrical life, then suddenly did.
Blowing fuses.

Look through the wiring for the one a mouse tried to chew through that is now shorting. Also see if there is a mouse nest in the airbox. Wear gloves.

The 15 A fuse does all the lights amongst other things. Try removing all the bulbs.
