I was trying to start my CB100 and the kickstart snapped clean at the base of the shaft (30+ year-old bike). Can this be repaired (i.e. welded) or does it require full parts replacement?

So the kickstart shaft snapped, not part of the kickstart lever? A very good welder might be able to drill, slug and weld it but I doubt I'd ever trust it again. You'd also need to strip it down to remove it. At which point you may as well just fit this £25 one off ebay. Don't forget to fit a new oil seal.

Alternatively if you mean the kickstart arm has snapped (effectively leaving behind a splined ring on the kickstart shaft) then yes, you can weld that back together but a new one would look nicer Smile

Yes, sorry, the arm/lever! Thanks for your advice.

Just get a new (used) one. Knowing Honda, they will be the same splines on multiple models. I'd have a look at CG125 ones first off.
