Sudden engine noise

01 GSXR 750
Engine started making a rapid ticking noise on the way home from work, then before I got home I had power loss, a bit of lurching and a more metallic smashing sound, once the noise started I had to ride for approx 2 minutes longer before I was able to stop and push it.

Terminal Diesel Knock.

'Usually' big ends fail due to lack of lubrication.

Not enough, old lube or thinned out due to heat or dilution.
Heat from loss of cooling.
Thinning from heat or fuel dilution.

Ragging shouldn't kill an engine in the short term but if the engine is treated like shite then results speak for them self.
