Zontes tiger non starter

Hello guys, I have question and was wondering if anyone here can help because I have no more ideas on how to solve my problem. I bought a 125 tiger last month, after 6 rides I had a bit of an incident where I had to swerve and the bike went down, I'm pretty sure it never actually hit the ground as I managed to hold it up on my leg. The bike cut out and after many attempts I did get it started and rode it home. Since then it will not start on the electric start button. It will bump start and I bought a kick start for it and it can kick over, but I want to solve the problem before I take it out again. The battery is fine and I see no obvious damage elsewhere. I recently found a wire which is composed of 6 smaller wires and 5 of them look like they have snapped (I will attach a photo), it goes from the back of the speedo and meets another connector under the tank and was thinking that could be the issue?

Just connect the wires back together.

Obviously make sure you match the colours and use proper connectors or at least leccy tape so they don't short against each other.

TBH they look cut. Is mummy annoyed that you bought a bike?

If you zoom in they look ripped Nobby, not cut.

As said, just connect back together. Use crimps, bullets or spades. Once tested tape up and forget.

Thats what a breadknife would do.

It looks to be under the headlight so diffficult to rip by dropping the bike.

I was thinking bullet connectors originally, didnt know whether it was worth just replacing it completely. I will give it a go. Cheers for your help

If the electric start still worked after it was on its side the wires might have been yanked and only let go later unless there was a clumsy theft attempt as suggested.
Most bikes will cut out if on their side to avoid oil starvation to the motor, it's a tilt sensor and turning the ignition off and on again resets it.
You might also need to crank a while to get any air out of fuel line.

I'm going to go with a third option - not snapped- not cut but severely pinched , maybe in the lock stop which has crushed the cables until they have let go.
