Hey lads,

Got my bike 3 months ago, so i’m a first timer with vehicles in general, had no idea what I was doing. It’s an 125 Nmax, bought it with 3.8k km, learned how to change the oil and did when around 4.5k km. I read the manual and it said oil should be changed every 6k km, so as i work with the bike I aimed to change again after 4k km. 3 months later and 4k km more I remembered I had to check the oil derp and it didn’t even reached the min mark on the dipstick.
I just changed the oil and you can see in the photo it had like 100ml only, the recommended is 900ml.
Never heard any unusual rattling or banging noises or any evident symptom, loss of power etc… only a couple of times when in idle at traffic lights the engine would get quieter and recovered. Noticed white smoke too when accelerating it, but nothing excessive.

should I be worried and alert about something?
I read I should keep an eye on the oil in case it becomes milky.

Thanks

Bike engines get tappity when the oil is run low usually. If you haven't noticed that then you're probably alright. Either way, there's nothing to do now except fill it up and see what happens. If it starts and runs quietly then you probably got away with it.

If the oil light didn't come on it was likely able to maintain pressure.
Generally if that light comes on in use it is already too late and some damage has been done.
The pump draws from low down in the reserve and even if it sucked a but of air through once in a while the internals would still stay oily until it got going again - hopefully.

Assuming it has a 'working' oil light.

Well, pushbikes generally don't in my experience Wink

I doubt it has an oil pressure light
not many scoots or small bikes seem to have them

What Pete said.. call back in two months and let us know if it's still running.
Make sure you keep the oil level correct in future.
If it lives you're one lucky guy - buy a lottery ticket.

Those bikes seem to have two oil drain plugs for some reason, one below and one on the side. Have you drained all the oil?

Looks bad but they only take 900mL, I think.

Now, where did it all go? Thinking

Re 2 oil drain plugs
I reckon
The side one is for quick/frequent changes and slightly less oil dropped.
The one underneath is larger and holds the spring loaded 'thimble' strainer which needs less frequent servicing and drops more oil.

On a side note, how come the OP has bad karma but apparently this is his/her only post and it doesn't appear to have had any karma? Question

Probably cos they posted in the cycling forum first. And cyclists deserve it.

My assumption is that the picture doesn't show all of the engine oil. Maybe it has oil in the final drive and that was dropped, or it has multiple plugs - possibly a proper drain and a level plug, or it was upright when it should have been leant over.

The picture appears to show less than 100ml of oil. Even on a bike with an oil capacity of 900ml, that can't be enough to have an uninterrupted supply of oil to the pump.

It's either fcuked or it isn't and you will soon know if it's deaded. I would surmise if there are no horrible noises and it's running OK you have escaped.

Keep an eye on the oil level and watch the exhaust for 2 stroke like clouds of blue smoke and keep you fingers crossed.
