Gear Oil - 2010 Honda CBF600

Hi Folks,
Does this bike come with gear oil?
Want to change it to make the shifting more smooth.
I'm constantly pulling in the clutch lever to smooth the ride.

Honda motorcycle transmissions, to my knowledge, share the engine oil. Use the recommended oil. Stay away from additives and energy-conserving oils to avoid clutch problems, which could arise from using oil that is too slippery.

The gearbox and engine use the same oil.

You're probably riding in too high a gear, try riding one gear lower. The redline is at 11,000rpm and unlike cars, it IS a target . Anyting below 5,000 on a medium inline 4 and it will be snatchy.

Also worth reading up on rev matching if you want a smooth gear shift.

All gears I use, the ride is not smooth. Lot of jerking about until I pull the clutch in.
Not sure what the previosue owner used, but I;m looking at changing the engine oil if they both (gear and engine) share the same oil
It's on 42,000 miles. Any recommendations on which oil? Sorry, don;t want to start a war again.
BUt looking at castrol power 4 stroke for this bike

Check the chain tension, and make sure it doesn't have any tight spots. This sounds like that might be the case.

In donkeys years of riding bikes I have never had a transmission issue that could be laid at the type of oil in the engine. There has always been some other reason be it clutch, cable, chain or whatever.

Sure, change the oil so you know the correct grade is in there but I absolutely guarantee it won't be the cause of your issues.
