My boots (TCX Classic/Explorer EVO Goretex) have started leaking, presumably due to the soles beginning to come away from the uppers - see photo. Other than that they're in great nick so I'm reluctant to bin them if I can help it. Anybody have any good suggestions for resealing? I did try using a builder's silicone sealant, having tried to clean out the gap first with meths, but it didn't hold at all.

Any better ideas? Other than to stop being a cheapskate?

Without any scientific reason I would use superglue. Just make sure you're feet are out of the boots when applying. Laughing

Superglue and water don't play nicely.

You can get leather glue search shoe glue it needs to be flexible which superglue isn't.
I can't see it holding long but bike boots are probably easier to stick than hiking boots or mucky work boots.

If they're worth wearing, they're worth repairing. Take them to a cobbler, they will have suitable glue as well as a press whilst it adheres.

A non-expanding polyurethane adhesive like gorilla clear (not normal gorilla, it foams up and will push it apart again). Find a way to hold the bit you are gluing down as firmly as possible while it sets up. A clamp and some bits of wood wouldn't be overkill but some tape at a bare minimum.

Or sealskinz socks.

What stinkwheel said or alternatively there are various shoe glue or boot fix glue products that are non expanding adhesives which are just the job for fixing your soles.

Jesus is all one needs to save one's sole.

Take Jesus unto one's heart. Sayeth the Lord.

As a pathelogical tight-wad I have successfully fixed new soles to trainers with good uppers (my favourite Gola Harrier high -tops) and prior filled to worn heel with this stuff..

https://www.toolstation.com/stixall-adhesive-sealant/p60981

It's the tits cos flexible and you get loads of it. The downside its that it takes about 24Hrs to properly go off - depending on thickness of application.

Silicunt sticks like shite to a blanket normally.

Coz you have already fapphed with silicunt it may have polluted the surfaces to be bonded now.

Any adhesive needs some irregularities in the surfaces as a key.

Abrasion before lathering the glue on might help.

Stormsure repair adhesive. It's intended for this sort of thing and works brilliantly. You'll have to improvise a method of clamping it closed and holding it but it won't leak any more if you do it correctly.

You can even build up worn heels with the stuff.

Cheap non-foaming polyurethane adhesive.

Fair comment. I was recommended the Stormsure by a friend and it really is good stuff. I've even rebuilt heels on pair of my OH's favourite boots. I'll have to try the cheaper stuff to see f it works as well as the Stormsure (no reason it shouldn't).
