Are the projector lights specifically designed for HIDs? If not and it's lighting performance you want, I doubt any retrofitted HID kit to a projector reflector and lens not specifically designed for that HID bulb will provide a decent quality beam pattern, which legalities aside, will mean it'll probably be pants.
I would be tempted to retain the reflector lenses, put the best quality bulbs in them you can find (Osram Nightbreakers used to be good in cars I think, but I am way out of date on what is good at the moment and if they come in the right bulb types for your bike). Then I'd get some good quality (e.g. Denali) aux lights and wire them up to your main beam, but with an isolator switch. You can turn off the isolator when the bike goes for it's MOT, the rest of the time they only come on when the main beam goes on so won't draw any unwanted attention. The benefit there is you can swap out spot/flood lenses on the aux lights and adjust them to exactly the light throw you want. I did this with the "basic" D2 lights on my bike and it has transformed it. ____________________ TG. |

I'd say here that not all LED bulbs are created equal. Do yours have any focus adjustment which allows you to rotate the bulb in relation to the back plate?
I have some on my enfield which are superb but when I first fitted them, the focus was all over the place. They have a little grub screw you can loosen and rotate the bulb in the back plate. After a little tweaking, it sprang into a fully focused beam pattern. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen.
