Looks like it's all coming to a head:

Trump calls Zelensky a 'dictator' as rift between two leaders deepens

Technically the Orange Hooligan may be correct but electing dictators in wartime is a tradition that dates back to the Roman Republic. Anyhoo, the players have been forced to line up and it seems to be America and Russia vs. the rest of NATO and Ukraine Confused

If I were Trump I'd point out to the Ukrainians that much as they'd like the eastern half of their country back it's full of ethnic Russians anyway and would probably be a massive pain in the arse to look after. Then again, it's hard to explain that when you don't fucking invite them to the negotiating table! A diplomatic move equivalent to scraping some shit off your shoe before setting foot in Riyadh Sad

No movement from the Russians is likely. Strategically they'll want to hold onto all the oblasts joining up Russia to Crimea otherwise they'll just keep fighting. They might keep going another year but after that Russia will entirely collapse, politically and economically. Fun to watch, pop it in your diary, until you consider amongst the chaos is a stockpile of nuclear weapons Shocked

So Russian won't budge, Ukraine can't join NATO, no one wants any foreign so-called peace keepers hanging about, how to keep the peace?

The killer move would be for Trump to say to Putin: "fine, keep what you have but you have to give Ukraine back their nuclear weapons." Twisted Evil
