So, cheaper bikes are cheaper? It's not really a revelation is it?
We're talking capable Japanese bikes that aren't A2 suitable really. Otherwise it's not like for like. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

Yes, agreed you can get some decent bikes at a reasonable cost but the reason I commented on the Busa was it came up on my FB as an advert and I owned one back in the day. Same for Goldwings, which are my favorite bikes.
I haven't done the maths on the Busa or Wings that Marjay commented on about how his SV was actually 'cheaper' now than when he bought it, but there is no way in a month of Sundays I could justify that sort of money on a boys toy, whereas 20 years ago it didn't seem quite so bad. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Jesus wept.
The bit I like in the advert....Free Premier Bike Delivery
Have this bike hand-delivered free of charge by a qualified mechanic to your doorstep. For a limited time, this bike is available via our Premier Bike Delivery free of charge.
At that price I'd want to delivered on the thighs of 20 vestal virgins and assembled by Chris Hoy. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

I wouldn't want the bike delivered, I'd want to collect it from their shop and for them to include their bike fitting service.

This video explains it better than their page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMAX40zojms
If you're spending thousands of pounds on a bike then spending a few hundred getting the bike to fit you perfectly doesn't seem unreasonable and if you're the one selling those top end bikes then you want those bikes to be perfect for each customer so including that service with expensive bikes would make sense. |

But, but.. it's a bicycle - how much qualification do you need FFS! ____________________ Now: A100, GT250A, XJ598, FZ750

If you're well into your cycling and have that much cash, you'd be better off paying someone to basically custom build the bloody thing from scratch, using the latest Reynolds tubing.
TBF top end push bikes are basically a financial pissing contest for mamils with too much money and not enough sense. ____________________ Honda CB125F, Kawasaki ZX6R J1, 1922 Sheffield-Henderson Blackburne grasstrack/sprint |
