If it's very light, I'd just leave it. If it's a bit heavier you can use a rust remover like doex-C or evaporust. White vinegar also works but it's critically important you flush it out REALLY well the neutralise with bicarb solution or it'll flash rust like hell.
On more severe rust, I've used POR15 before which works well but you need to make sure you follow the instructions to the letter, the prep is more important than the coating. Particularly with regard to it being THOROUGHLY dry before applying the final coating. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. If you can afford it, after water rinsing you can also swill around a bottle of meths/ethanol to 'suck up' the residual water. ____________________ Now: A100, GT250A, XJ598, FZ750, SL1000
