I am looking for somewhere to buy a snowmobile helmet with a heated visor. I know HJC make them but it would appear that noone in the UK sells them (funny, being a country famous for deep snow and all that Wink )

Could anyone recommend a store that might be prepared to send one over for me?

And yes (before the safety Nazis jump on me), I know they are not kitemarked or road legal in the UK. Neither are some of my other helmets and I don't care. If I am going to be made to wear a helmet, it might as well keep my face warm in the winter.

Cheers.

Is this the thing you mean?

Don't know if the guy would ship overseas but might be worth asking (if that's a reasonable price that is).

i was going to suggest e-bay, seeing as it normaly individuals or people who ship overseas anyway its your best bet i reckon...

As for the legalitys...

Lets face it, its unlikely that it will be much more than a motorbike helmet with suiteably shaped heated elements, chances are you could just take the innards out of the helmet and put them in a road legal helmet, or a better one... it would have to be done properly though because, styrofoam+heat=dead

Exactly what I mean. Thumbs Up

There are a load on ebay but none classed as 'available to the UK'. I suppose it does no harm to ask.

Far as I know, they basically ARE motorbike helmets, I think they even do a visor kit to fit a normal HJC helmet. I can't believe noone has cottoned on to importing these things to the UK...Imagine having a completley fog-free visor locked right down all the time, even in freezing fog and when you stop.....bliss!
