Just checking over my bike today, all ready to go for a nice cruise out to Chatsworth and round that way. Coolant, check. Oil, check. 2 stroke oil, check. Four inch galvanised nail in rear tyre, check...

Took ten minutes just to pull the bloody thing out Tyre stayed up, and then did the 36 mile round trip I planned so it appears OK. Bloody worrying though, especially seeing as that damn tyre is only three weeks old
Edit; Can't seem to get the [img] tags to work, so it's down there Cheers Stew and damn my blindness ____________________ 'Allo! My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!

Tubeless, and yes I'd have thought it would have deflated too Jpegs. I see
Well, generally, as I said before - BUGGER. Could do without that really Thanks to all for the replies, and it seems the consensus is to ditch it and do it swift. I have to admit, I was afraid of that. Fair D, and cheers all
So... How much will that be then? ____________________ 'Allo! My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!

Yep I gotta agree with the rest BUT take the tyre to you're nearest bike tyre specialist and you MAY be able to get it major repaired,I don't know a lot about bike tyres but I spent a good few years working in a tyre centre and damage to the sidewalls can be repaired by specialist tyre repairers, they usually pick the tyre up say on a monday and return it the following monday,we used a company called Meridian Tyre Repair from Bristol and they were excellent and i'm sure theres many more repairers around the country and they are repaired to BSAU standards so its not just a bodgit and scarper job!
Like I say I'm not too good with bike tyres but as long as you havent damaged the cords in the sidewall then it should be repairable, you'll still have to get another tyre of course whilst your's is away for repairs but at least you'll have that one back to use another day |
