Well if you read the first post then forget about it! I was worried about hitting a cat but someone wasn't concerned about me getting hit. I was driving behind some moron on a four by four untill I lost patience because he was gong extremely slow. I looked at the other lane, no cars coming, perfect for over taking. Drove fast past him and went to the same lane he was on because I wanted to turn right. However, I suddenly head him pulling some high revs with his car and from the looks of it wanted to race. I didn't have time to mess with that fool, I gave an indicator that i wanted to turn right and started to slow down but as I was looking in my mirror the car behind me didn't slow down! Mad Mad I was already starting to get in position for the turn and I then noticed a car on the other lane of the road i want to turn to. I had only 3 options, either i slow down and try to turn normally but the car behind me would had hit me. Or I could try to take the turn at the speed that i was going which i think was around 70km/h or something like that I wasn't paying attention to the speedo, but I'm still a new rider and I know that I couldn't have made that turn specially that it was very narrow. So i turned to my last option and decided to try and go around the triangle. of course the sand next to the triangle didn't help me at all but I managed to lean to the left as best as i could. I think when I hit the curb I was going about 40km/h I'm not real sure because it happened all so fast. ironically after crashing the nice lad didn't mind stopping to make sure that I was ok, he just ran away. A lady also opened the window of her car and shouted "how could you do this to yourself" thinking that I am a biker and that makes me a suicidal machine. Anyway the purpose of this post is to share what I learned so I can try and help other riders on this forum. I'm the blue line in the picture Idea .

1: If you buy a bike don't drive it before you buy your leathers. I wasn't wearing any leathers just a normal shirt and some jeans, I am having a very hard time walking, and I mean very. My hip got hit against the curb and it's hurting like hell and somehow my knee got a very deep cut. I can see the insdies of my body!

2: I also think that I will never over take a person if I'm not gonna stay on the same road because some people might be very bad drivers. I learned to be more patient, I mean why didnt I just wait an extra 15seconds?

3: If you are gonna crash try not to get in contact with the object with a ninety degree angle because I think that'll just make you fly higher. And yes I did fly quite a bit but at least I'm alive!

4: Don't spend a lot on your first bike! I have a 2nd hand kawasaki zzr400 and I got it for almost 800 or 900 pounds so I'm not that sad about it. God knows what I would have done if it happened to my future k5 gsxr 600 Praying hopefully.

5: Sorry that this post is long it's just that it's my first accident

Oh and for the bike damage, Thumbs Down Sick Crying or Very sad Sad Shocked Mad Evil or Very Mad as soon as I got up I noticed there was an oil leak, also after inspecting the bike I noticed that the front fairing is cracked and the right foot peg came off Thumbs Down oh and the rear brake is also cracked. Looks like I'm gonna be spending a lot of money because there are even more problems.

Unlucky to ehar about the off, hope yer on the mend sooon Very Happy

Although I do have to say, overtaking anywhere near a junction is a very bad idea, a major flaw in driving/riding skills, it makes it even worse if you were using this junction. If I was the 4x4 driver, I would have been a very unhappy chappy if I was cut up like this. Of course, I would slow down though, his actions are unforgiveable if he didn't slow down and give you room.

But, I'm sure you know that already!! Smile

Laughing Yes I do know that, but mate I had alot of space before the junction but he started zooming in fast . Anyway whats done is done! I won't do the same mistake again Razz . Oh and by the way I'm getting back on the bike in 2 weeks that's when I would have been healed and I'll just think of this as a very important first lesson.

Even if he was coming up fast, he'd have to slow down, or hit you. Let hit hit you if he really feels the need. He'll have a hard time getting insurance next year.

Better to experience a knock early on in riding Id say.
Brace yourself though, there’s a lot more where that came from, its usually not your fault though.
Good luck with the repairs, don’t let it put you off the riding. Wink Thumbs Up

Thanks a lot man. I won't let anything set me off from riding because a bike to me is a passion, its not that I like them. And I agree with you about an early accident is a good thing, it let's you know how dangerous these machines are. I just wished I ought the leathers but a friend was coming from france and was gonna get me a 50 percent discount on all leathers. When I think of it now I should of bought everything much earlier, at least I would have been walking normally by now. Thanks once again Smile .

Yes I really want a gixxer! But not now, in a years time hopefully. I know I shouldn't go out without a license plate it was just a cruise around the house and the bike is actually for me and my 2 cousins. They're still saving up for the fees for the license place check up test. Crying or Very sad Don't harass me I can barley move Crying or Very sad . And I do deserve one because each time I see one I start to tear Sick and I can tell between the sound of a gixxer and any other bike Razz . Oh and, I'm not gay Exclamation .

But if youre gonna do stupid things like in your above post you shouldn't really be given anything with 2 wheels and an engine.
I've ridden with no Plate. All the way from Leek to Sheffield. But I had my bro in the car behind me, broke no laws (Other than riding without a plate) and didn't piss any cagers off. I'm als not stupid enough to fckabout without leathers! Just because you cream over Gixxers, doesn't mean your not gonna die if you do ever get one.
Try learning to ride and be safe, then think about upgrading.

Rolling Eyes That's what I was trying to do when I drove the bike.I fell and I learned not to do the same mistake again. I don't think I pissed him off but he thought that I wanted to race. Anyway, thanks for your opinion. And trust me I won't get a gixxer untill I become sure I can handle it.

Not having a go at you but how come you diddent manage to get past a 4x4. Should you not have been able to just put a squirt on and get infront of it?

It shows extremely bad road manners to overtake when you know you are to be turning either left or right shortly. Whereas that would certainly not excuse the drivers actions, it would make them a little more understandable. But you live and learn, and if you have learnt to avoid doing that in the future then Mr. Green Thumbs Up.

Hope you recover soon! Karma

You did actually have four options... What you probably should have done is go past the turn, pull up and let the traffic past, do a U-turn (they are useful when you're lost!) and then go back and do the turn from the other direction. I wouldn't have assumed that the 4x4 was just going to run into your backside either, if you were indicating and braking coming up to the junction.

I did get passed it, but as soon as I did he started to go fast and already had taken the far right side. It doesn't really show in the drawing but its a two way road for each way one lane. But right before the turn the road becomes a three laner. I was already in the middle of the third lane (all the way to the right) and when I looked in the mirror so was the car. I wonder why he didn't go right Middle Finger .

I don't think I could have continued past the junction and then U turn because as I said there is this triangular curb and i was already on the last lane ( if I kept going straight I would have hit the curb) but you know maybe your right I think I would have managed to lean a little to the left and get back on the lane I was on in the first place. When you're about to crash thinking gets hard:(.

Sorry to hear about your accident. It looks like you are reflecting on what went wrong and what you could have done to prevent this which is the main thing.

You learn by your mistakes (hopefully).

Be safe.
