I was out and about monday when I ran into a problem!

I went to pull away after completing a job!

Starts bike, puts into gear lets clutch out, speedos going up but yet im at a stand still! :thumbdown :bugeyes

The chain is rotating when i roll the bike, so im not too sure if its jumped of the front sprocket or not?

Does it sound like final drive gears gone? It all clicks into gear and clutch works etc. just no drive to rear wheel?

HELP!

Is the chain spinning in relation to the engine revs when you've put it in gear, or just turning when you push the bike?

I assume you can see whether it's on the back sprocket correctly or not, so it sounds like .....

a: the chain has jumped off the front sprocket

b: the front sprocket has come off it's splines

c: (very expensive) the output shaft has sheared/lost it's splines.

If the speedo's driven off the front sprocket then it's obviously turning so it sounds like 'a'.

Hi

As the speedo is moving I would say that the most likely thing is that you have copied a certain NSRs chain:-

As the man above say's, that or you've stripped the splines off of the output shaft.

my chain does look a bit that! Shocked it has not been used for 2-3 months and left outside! and now is 2-3 incs of slack! I have a spare sprocket so I can put them on there!

Let you know the weekend!

Laughing . Think it might need more than that. Could use it as a blank for machining up a new smaller sprocket.

All the best

Silly question... How can the speedo move when the bike is at a standstill? The cable goes to the front wheel doesn't it? Question

Forgive my ignorance if I'm wrong Rolling Eyes

Any Yam dealer should stock 'em, try Fowlers in Bristol if you can't get one locally. Part number 90179-18020-00 according to YAM's USA site. I'd get a new tab washer too - 90215-21022-00

Hi

Is it a bolt or a large nut? Watch out as it is quite easy to wreck the thread on the output shaft from the gearbox so that the nut will not go on again.

All the best
