Well the Hyosung Comet is falling apart only had it say 4-5 months. The lock for the pillion seat don't work and after yesterday the rear shock absorber has died so its just working on the spring the engine isn't feeling to fantastic either but then I have been riding it a little hard lately. Also I'm skint so I can't afford repairs and a service so i'll have to borrow more money off my parents
Just looking forward to the day I get to do my test so I can get a decent and more reliable bike.
I hate the winter |

On a bit of a gamble I typed the URL https://www.hyosung.co.uk and came up with StartRight dealers and a link to the importers.
Why not give the importers, Bavanar Products ltd, a call and see if they can help/advise. Tel: 020 8665 9994. If they're serious about customer satisfaction and establishing Hyosung they might have a look at your problems. What have you to loose?

This post has me a bit worried now, so far my Comet hasn't been too bad with just one or two minor faults.
Mines got its 4000km service coming up soon so I'll be able to check on its overall status then.
Cause it doesn't help having hit that oil/diesel patch sliding off down the street ____________________ <-- I'm taller than Charley Boorman look |

I am sorry to hear that and all I can say to make you feel better is hang in there soon you will have the bike you really want before you know it, I was riding a 1990 ZZR 250 that I bought for $1500 and it was crashed on both sides and burnt quite a bit of oil but somehow managed to sell it for $2000 a year later! maybe it is time for a polish and sell it before it is too bad to get a good resale value it is winter over there and it is too cold to ride anyway ____________________ Those bloody footpegs......they ought to do away with em! |

The fun machine.
Anyway, yes, call Bavanar if you ever need any bits for a Hyosung. ____________________ Yamaha TDM 850 |

Sorry to hear you're having probs with you're bike mate,to be honest mine is 100% perfect,I've managed to sort out the problem with the carbs having a flatspot thanks to the advice I got off a couple of guys here and it seems to pull away far better than it did before.
I've had to use my bike all this week to get to work and back because the bloody gearbox packed up on my van last sunday,my route to work is 20 miles of A and B roads with about a 5 mile blast of dual carriageway too and to be honest the bike has done brilliantly in all weathers (it was friggin cold this morning though!) the only problem I had was a puncture on the front half way home one night but I managed to get it into a garage to blow it up and it got me home ok,I had to have a new tyre fitted which cost £52 but hey...shit happens! |

Well like I say they've been good to me so far, even before I bought my bike I contacted them for some info and I had a few leaflets and a price list in the post the very next day, they also seem to answer their emails very quickly too.
The rear shock absorber problem seems to be a very common problem on Comets,I've been looking at a few messages on the Comet 250 owners group on Yahoo and it seems lots of people have had trouble with them ( https://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Comet250Owners ) there is also a 125 owners group but its very quiet there at the moment as the group has only just been setup.Perhaps they've had a faulty batch or something, you shouldn't have any trouble getting that changed under warranty.
I've not had any problems with my engine like you describe though and it certainly doesn't sound like its struggling even though I'm not exactly the lightest of people so perhaps it should be struggling to pull my weight!! I'm not trying to insult you here but could it be anything to do with the way you ride it? nothing will last for long if its screamed all day!
Mine like Malb's is also due a 4000km service soon but I'll try and keep the mileage down until after xmas due to lack of funds! |

I must admit I was a little hard on my bike the other week out of sheer frustration from stupid drivers and filtering. Also when I was riding my bike back from southampton it was medium to high reving for a whole 2 hours which didn't do it any good
yeah bavanar also answer there e-mails very quickly which is good but tomorrow I'll find out if theres anywhere I can take my bike to be fixed. |

yeah I stopped after 1 1/2 hours on the way back, but still didn't do it any good
I phoned Bavanar and they said the nearest place I can take the bike to is Croyden. Not good with a broken shock they also said if I can get the rear shock off myself they will post me a new one. Wish me luck I'm going to get my hands dirty |

O bugger I have to ride to Croyden on a broken shock now Theres no way I can get it out because I have nothing to stand the bike on when its removed. But I phoned them back and they said I can take it down next monday (fingers crossed the weather will be fine) and they said they can do it in about 1-2 hours which is good.
Gave the bike a little run today and the engine feels quite nice so maybe it was just the cold mornings. But I don't think I'll be going over 40 as the back feels like jelly |
