Just wanted to know if there are any younger riders with bikes that fall into a high NU group. I shall be buying a bike later on in the year and wanted an idea of what others have managed to get hold of.

Ask Phoenix, he had a Blade for a while - under the age of 21!

Three points meant he couldn't afford it anymore though!! Rolling Eyes

Not bad at all, I've been looking for a while, the quotes I get are a bit random. I've been quoted a simmilar price for a Bandit 600S and a ZX6-RR. Ideally I'd like to get a 6R but thought I'd see if anything cheaper catches my eye. So far with the price difference I'd rather pay the little extra for the Ninja.

If I don't go for the Ninja it will be a neked street bike, such as a Z750 etc...

I paid £500 TPFT on a zx6, under a year old, when I was 22.
The zx6 is NU class 14.

The main thing is to call as many companies as possible.

I could have got it cheaper considering everything but as I wasn't the one picking up the bill and the people who were are trying to spend a lot of money for some tax related reason I can't complain. Cool

I was about to get a ZX6-r but then had a go on the thundercat which is abit of a forgotten bike. Ok not as powerfull etc but it keeps up with many bikes in terms of performance and is good for insurance being group 13. oh and it has fully adjustable suspension front and back so it can be set up to handle better.

I pay 395 TPFT with only a month past my bike test no NCB. I am 23.

Suppose I could make a comment.

23 years old, 0 ncb, £460 TPFT with £200 excess on a '99 ZX-6R (Group 14), day after I passed my test.

Spend a good few hours calling up companies. It may be boring but it'll be the quickest money you'll make/save - to begin with I was quoted £1200+!
