... to get a completely clean sheet Mr. Green Got back to the test centre after the test and the instructor told me to sit down. He asked me the question about pillion passengers (is it just me or do the questions mean nothing?) and then said "Ok Rick the test is over and I'm happy to tell you you've passed Laughing You would have had a clean sheet but on the road back here (test centre) you went just a little bit quick when you didn't have right of way, well done.". Excellent day, couldn't believe how easy it was, the lessons were much harder and more nerve racking than the test.

Just got to get a bike now...

and restrict to 33bhp Sad Only 19.

Was 19 on sunday, im sure my insurance quotes have dropped quite alot. Should that happen or is it just something else that's changed?

I have heard of the questions they ask after and before riding in the test. i.e the pillion ones, what sort of things do they bring up??

Same as me, I'm not too worried about it either as I'm not that fussed if I pass or fail, I'd be gutted but it wouldn't bother me or put me off like the driving test has done to my bird, she's failed 3 times now and is pretty much giving up Confused.

The questions themselves don't mean much, I guess it helps the examiner get an idea of how confident you are though.

It's just some show/tell me questions like:

What should be adjusted when getting ready to ride with a pillion?
Show me how you would check if the front brake is working.
How would you check if the indicators are working.

Simple stuff really, they're not trying to catch you out, just be confident and show/tell them.

The questions are pretty common sense - they ask you what you would tell a pillion before setting off (how/when to get on/off, lean with the bike etc.), what adjustments you would have to make (e.g. tyre pressures). Nothing that requires a degree in rocket science!

My instructor (from Tom Grainger School of Motorcycling in Warrington - highly recommended) gave me a list of the possible questions weeks before the test, so when the examiner asked them I could just roll the answers off parrot fashion.

What do you think of a VFR400 restricted as a first bike? Any idea how much parts are? There's one on BikeTrader for about a grand that's already restricted, bit ugly in the colours it's in but looks ok.

Would be a nice little bike in my opinion mate Thumbs Up. Quick enough for someone who's just passed there test and they handle well enough.

Was tempted by a fully faired GS500 at 600 quid (from a dealer) but would have to get it restricted at around 200 quid which is close to 50% of the bike value. The VFR seems like a more fun, and longer lasting (wouldnt want to replace it as quick) bike at a similar kinda price, especially seeing as my insurance quotes seem to have dropped about 200 quid for turning 19.
