Hi, Not sure if I've got a prob or not, but anyway...

Over the weekend I was cleaning my bike and noticed the chain was very loose. About 3 inches of movement (middle at the bottom).

I adjusted the chain so I had about 1.5 inches of movement, rolled the bike back and forward, then found the chain was even tighter.

After several hours of adjusting, realised, that when I rolled the bike back and forward (in gear) the slack transfer's from the bottom to top and vise versa.

Question is, Is this normal?

Always adjust your chain at its tightest spot.

Rotate the wheel until the tightest spot is half way between front and rear sprockets on the bottom run. Adjust it to the recomended tightness, ....Job done.

It will not be the same as you rotate the wheel due to sprocket wear and the chain stretching. If its eccesive it might be worth getting a new chain and sprockets
