Hi

There should be an obvious pattern when you shine it on a wall. I would make sure it is on level ground and a decent distance from the wall, and put some tap at headlight height where you want it to aim on the wall. This way you can set high beam to be pretty much straight on.

Dip will naturally be below that.

All the best

Keith

IIRC the beam has to be level with the height of the headlight at a distance of 25m.

I read that somewhere, but when I think about it, that seems very high.

maybe it's got to be at ground level 25m away.

I'm not helping...

25m is a VERY long way - how many workshops do you know of that are 25m long?

2.5m, maybe.

Good point, my info was taken from a post on these forums, I could have easily overlooked a decimal point.

Just be aware, there are some kind of criteria for headlight aim..

Have you got a manual for the bike? In the manual I had for my bike it had a section showing you how to adjust the light's and what not.

I thought it was 20m away, but 25m don't seem bad.

If the distance was 2.5m then your headlight must be really out of place if it doesn't shine straight on.
