Removing brake pads

I'm half way through my first attempt of cleaning my brakes. Recently they've degraded and one piston wont move very freely causing it to rub gently on my brake disc.
I've got the caliper off but how to the brake pads come out they seem to be held in somehow?

That does help but the problem or issue rather is more specific to how the pads are fitted, at the back on the calliper there is a metal bar which the pads are attached to with a spacer in the middle I don't know how to get that metal bar out.

It's a brembo caliper.

I can't find a picture but to describe it there is a hole at the end of the caliper where there is a bar going across it. The brake pads are mounted through the bar there is a tiny clip at the end of the bar like a paper clip but removing that does nothing in the way of removing the bar.

A good twat with a hammer and punch gets mine out. Or, grip the end with mole grips and try rotating it. There is nothing holding them in, so its just a case of finding a method of pushing them out.

If its not like mine, check as it might be threaded in....

Yeah that's them I think, So what do i try to remove the actuall pads or the metal bar at the back?

The bar. Can't remember which way it goes, but its just a case of forcing it out. The end that the "paper clip" thingy was attached passes through the caliper body. Try a hammer and punch.
