OMG Shocked . I had no idea that a inline 4 would be so different to a twin of same cc.
I feel like I have to ride everywhere with stupidly high revs.
Hardly any engine braking, 14k redline, gas guzzler and general hoon behaviour.

OK a few questions.

1. It's got an aftermarket exhaust system (whole shebang). I very much doubt it's been set up properly, would this have an effect on the fuel consumption and performance because at the moment it feels a bit steep 8quid = 160km, 100miles?
2. The rev counter light is out, how do I go about replacing that?
3. The speedo is in km and isn't linked to the front wheel, can I use the blue motrax convertor on it still?
4. Theres a touring scottoiler on it but it is out of oil and isn't properly set up from what I gather. How do I set it up and where does the dripper bit go. (Iv'e heard I have to adjust it for temperature).
5. How the hell do I start off? At the moment I totally over rev and then stutter off the line.
6. My front brakes buzz when I put them on is this meant to happen? There braided so maybe that makes a difference.
7. How do I easily get out fucked screws?

But other than that it drives like a dream, steering is light and responsive and it just generally feels good Thumbs Up
If anyone can answer any of them that would be great. Smile

Cheers

Can only possibly answer 2 of those .

1. Doubt it will make much difference to the fuel usage unless it's running very rich can normally tell by fumes from the exhaust , best bet is to get it on the dyno and let them fiddle with it you will then get the best of both world's spot on mixture and best power output.

3. Motrax thingy yes it will work get the upper assembly one though. :

Hope this help's.

fazed.

Your fuel consumption is fine, you're getting about 40-45mpg there. The exhaust system will make it run lean if its not set up right. Lean uses less fuel.

Rev counter light should just pop in behind it - find wiring behind rev counter, pull out old bulb, pop in new one.

Easy way to find out if you can use the blue motrax thing - I'm pretty sure its the speedo end one so you can.

Dripper bit sits either touching or very close to the rear sprocket. You need to have oil in it for it to work.

You should have learn clutch control on your CBT. Be gentle and it will come in time. If its really rough pulling away you could have warped clutch plates.

The front brake on my old VX800 buzzed with normal EBC pads but less with ferodos. I don't think it was warped, it worked. I let it buzz a little.

Fucked screws are best removed with an impact driver.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Sounds within reason for the fuel consumption

About 2 hours taking the front of the bike to pieces, followed by 2 minutes pulling out a little rubber bung with a tiny expensive capless bulb, then 2 hours putting it all together again. Followed by doing the job again a week later because another bulb has gone.

Think there are elecrtronic converters for this.

Slip the clutch until you are at a suitable speed.

Probably just the particular combination of pads / disks.

Slowly and carefully with a drill. Remember that the drill heats the screw up and it will quite happily melt the plastic if you are not careful.

All the best
