When i did my CBT the instructor kept slagging off all the the road user that were making mistake, "just ignore that wanker" as a car over took me on a corner.
I don't know what to do in that situation as im the learner, just remember what the 'L' stands for as it shows that we are shit riders.
Like today, i was glad the car drivers were calm when i managed to stall my bike on a 3 laned road, as the traffic lights turned green. After finally finding the neutral gear (took a minute or so), then the bike failing to start i didnt have a clue what to do as i was stuck, and i couldn't pull over. finally i managed to bump start the bike and ride away, my most stressful time on a bike so far, after binning it. ____________________ [Italjet MM5A] ll [Rieju RS1 Evolution] ll [Suzuki GS500e] ll [Suzuki GSX600F] ll [Honda CG125] ll [Pug Elyseo 125] ll [Yamaha YZF750R] ll [Yamaha Thunderace] ll [Yamaha R6] ll [Triumph 955i] ll [Hayabusa RZK3] ll [Suzuki RGV250] ll |

Not all driving school cars have dual controls.
She might even have been on her test (which would explain why the passenger was not giving the learner instructions) in which case the examiner would only take control as a last resort but you can be sure that she would have failed and been told why. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. I had to be on my toes yesterday, due to a learner/instructor combination nearly changing into the lane that I was occupying. I'm sure the instructor ever hit the brakes or told the driver to stop (that's what all cars need ). The amazing thing was at the time I was riding in a 4 lane road. I was in the left hand lane, which is controlled by a give way sign, and was about to turn left. They were in the 3rd lane, which is controlled by a set of traffic lights, which were red at the time. Out of the blue this driver proceeded to cut across 2 lanes into the lane I was in. ____________________ Dangerous traffic offences spotted on 50-minute trip: Lost count after 100. Every other day we hear of road rage incidents, bad driving and moments of madness on the roads....
Get used to it!!! It's the world we live in today. The roads are full of wankers and you just have to deal with it. Everyone believes they are right and your wrong. ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

I must admit I'm more patient with learner drivers and riders under instruction.
I almost get a smug self-satisfaction by being so forgiving!
Last Saturday, I was riding through a residential area with cars parked on the right hand side of the road. A learner driver in a school of motoring car was coming towards me, I slowed down a tad even though it was my right of way, just to see what the learner would do next. Bloody good job I did too, cos he suddenly had a panic and pulled out into the road and drove past me with inches to spare with his eyes fixed on the raod ahead, grimly gripping the wheel.
As they went past the instructor held up a hand in a 'thanks/sorry' type gesture and then put his hand to his forehead, across his brow in a rather 'God help me' sort of way.
I see a lot of L platers round my way, cos I live near Pompey test centre and am on the test routes. I do have a certain sympathy when I'm sat behind some poor sod in a car with a fluoro clothed bod with a clipboard sat next to them stalling the car for the 6th time trying to get out of an uphill junction. ____________________ Fly away on my Zephyr?

The thing with L plates is that they just mean 'learner' - you don't know if it's some poor soul out on the road for the very first time and completely terrified, or someone on their last lesson before their test, who's very able and very confident.
I give them all a wide berth (bikes too) and treat them as if they're likely to do something spectacularly stupid.
We were all learners once. |

Finally, someone agree's with me!!!
You where all learners once before so it's best to give them respect as I'm sure you all wished for when you where learning. Only the other day I was stuck behind a learner. I was in no rush so sat behind her for the best part of 3 miles (at 30 mph, try do that now!!) Turns out it was my best mates girl on a lesson, good job I didn't pass her, might not have got invited round again for a while! ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

^^^^ No, I got the point but why get angry about it...
As I said, people always think they are right, including the instructor! Lot of tossers out there, he just happened to be one of them...... ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |
