How long should a New Battery last for??

Am abit pissed off today was going to take the bike out for the 1st time, I got it last week and its been sitting in the garage since with a Datatool System 3 on it. Got all my gear on but the dam thing is totally flat. Is this normal or what do you guys think???

My GSXR suffers from the same problem, the alarm and immobiliser really drains the battery if its left to sit.

Couple of solutions:

Get a handy helper to assist you bump starting it, then proceed to rag the tits of it.

Ride it often.

Take out the alarm/immobiliser.

Get an Optimate charger.

I never had much trouble with the alarm alone, but with the pager system it'll kill the battery in about 10 days if the bike's not used, especially at this time of year when it's cold.

Solution? Ride it once a week. Smile

If I had mains power in the garage I'd get an Optimate, but I don't so I just ride it to charge it and use my jump starter to get it going if need be. Isn't a problem in summer cos I use the bike much more often.

Mine lasts about 3 weeks without charge and thats with a Meta 357 Alarm and immobilisor on it. Thankfully I now have an optimate to keep my battery charged until I can ride it. Thumbs Up
