It turns out the ecu/pulsar/stator coil (whichever you choose to call it) has gone on my goose. However since the goose is so rare, its a pig finding one. The goose however, uses the same engine as an extremely common DR 350. So since in theory this part is a component of the engine... will they share it? ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
From September 2014 to January/February 2015 I will not be using any English, nor reading any. As such, I won't be on here. PM at will, but I won't be checking/posting unless in emergencies. Certainly not for the first couple of months. Please berate me savagely if I break that rule... |

Make sure you know what it is you want thought, you've mentioned 3 things there.
Stator is a big round thing with a few arms with lots of copper wire wrapped around it. These go.
Near that is a pick up coil, this is the bit that is triggered by a magnet or similar on the flywheel, so basically the bit that tells the bike when to spark. These go less, and generally get less effective as they get hot when they do fail.
ECU is the black box of tricks, where pure evil lurks. These can fail, generally killed by getting too much current (dead reg/rec) or shorting out. |
I thought they were all the same, but everyone has completely different names for them? I was going nuts with it. I'll fone them up and double check before i get the new part (found someone breaking a pretty good condition goose so it should be cushty).
Thanks for the info though, as far as im aware all electrics on the goose are evil. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
