 |

Now, this is probably a stupid question, but iits intrigued me for some time. Setting off to uni. today (for an exam) I noticed to my horror that there appeared to be NO transmission oil in my bike. Also a drop of oil on the floor. Panic! I guessed something went wrong on the 70 mile thrashing I gave it yesterday. I had no time to work out what was going on or find alternative transport so I put a bit more oil in (100ml tops). Go to exam, return to bike. Not much oil and another drop on the floor Get it home. Check the sightglass and not only is there plenty of oil, theres actually waaaay too much! The sightglass is filled when the bike is level!
So, two questions I suppose. Firstly, any idea what could cause this radical fluctuation, and two (the stupid one) what does too much transmission fluid do to an engine? (its a 2 banger if that makes any odds).

Well, just checked and its still waaay too much Rather worryingly, I tracked the drip to the back of where the gear lever meets the left side engine cover Hard to tell exactly. Anyone have any ideas what could have gone? And how? Could just be road crap and chain loob, but I doubt it I'll investigate further in a little while I think.
Anyway, still no answer to what too much oil will do? ____________________ 'Allo! My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!
