Right I have a full set of spare fairings which I intend on putting on the zxr400 for my trip around Europe this year to keep my originals nice and mint as the panniers/ferry crossing etc scratch them.

The problem is all of the panals are different colours and thus require a respray... Since these panals will be primary for use in europe I figured why not make the paint job stand out a little... being proud to be British and all that.

So here are 4 different schemes attached, Please vote for

1 or
2 or
3 or
4

I personnally like 3 and 4 so help me decide Razz

If you don't like any, or have a better idea, post and say what you would do.

I like that last entry there but out of the original ones I preferred number 2. Smile

Why not incorporate the flags of all the countries you're going to?

I agree with Bendy here (not again!)

I would also say it makes you an easy target just having the GB/England flag. Places like spain have just as many narrow minded imbecials (I spel vary best) as Brittain, putting a flag from each country on (even if small) would make it less of a target for abuse. Also the whole speeding thing seems to more likely to let you go if you look like you love their country.

I personally didn't have a GB sticker and tried to make my bike as unnoticeably different as possible (damn reg plate). Depends where you are going, but if people think you are from abroad they may take it as a sign they could do what they want, after all, what are you gonna do about it?

Just a thought. M1ke 2nd pic looks best IMHO or his 1st.

yeah I completely agree, I'm working in france this year and the amount of anti-english feeling can be worrying sometimes.. I've been advised by a few people not to have GB stickers or flags on cars or bikes. its maybe not that bad, but if some drunk european lads stumble past a line of bikes and one has a union jack paint scheme, i know which one is most likely to be pushed over...

my girlfriend's car windscreen was smashed just a month or so ago, it was parked on a main street in a line of cars, there was no reason for them to go after hers apart from the foreign spanish number plates.

Just something for you to consider....

Bendy's idea seems pretty good. Maybe a massive GB on each side will negate the need for GB sticker? If you're thinking about incorporating a union jack, do it triumph stylee on the nose cone and leave the rest white or maybe like do a corner of the union jack on the bellypan section gradually fading towards the top left corner.

I've had a quick play using the idea of bike number 2.

I'm really liking that stew, the only problem is the curvy bits, im no pro and was thinking straight lines would be easier to mask...

But im sure with a little effort maybe i could cut out a sticky template or something? I'm not sure how else I would get the curves.

The final one (Stew's) has more going for it. It's the 3D feel which makes it work, it's the kind of thing you could get Dreammachine to do for you.

Why don't you get a sticker manufacturing company to make something like this? Then if you don't like it you can always take it off.

OR
See if you can get a projector and project the image onto the bike then mark it up with a pen for masking. You could use masking film and a scalpel, bit of a big job though.

Although stews is very good, i dont think that it will be achievable to be done by someone who isnt a pro. Sorry to put you down. But i do believe that you should stick with the Union Jack idea.

Honestly, the flag wont be good, especially when it comes to sell.
Can't go wrong with a green one though - you know green ones are much faster!

Have the St George Cross on one side and the EU flag (blue with circle of gold stars) on the other.

Not keen on the whole bike being in Union Jack, soz.

I have 4 complete sets of fairings, I don't mind making one a bit different.

I'm defo sticking with the flag idea, just i'm not sure about the curvy bits, needs to be a straight design really.
