ive run them, just bought another set and they are good.

Dont let the naysayers tell you that retreads are bad!

I run them on my GSXR 1100 and if it can survive that theyll survive anything.

My new SV has them on. I'm taking it out for a maiden voyage tomorrow so I'll let you know what I think.

Come replacment time I doubt I'll be getting them again no matter what I think of them from experience. Heard too many bad things about them, and quite a few places do pair deals on good tyres for about 130-150 quid.

Remolding a tyre isn't the problem, it is where the carcass for it comes from and what damage it may have had in a previous life.
If you get one with a good carcass then you won't have any problems. But a bad one thats been damaged may flex more than it should and over heat. Thats when bits will start to drop off it.
To be fair most are checked before they are processed so a duff one SHOULD be a rare thing............. Rolling Eyes

I've heard many bad rumors about them, seen a few pics of them after they have fallen apart too.

I would never get them, and if i did have them on a bike i would change them asap, but it's up to you.

Remoulds on a bike? No thanks. Having experienced a cheapy car tyre go egg shaped (literally) at 90mph, remoulds are a big no no from me, on a car or bike; and your quite likely to survive a failure strapped in your cage.

You have no idea how old the carcass is, what it originally was or what has happened to it during it's (possibly very long) life.

Having seen the picture in this thread which is the tyre after 100 miles, I can't see them being a good choice of tyres for burnouts.

I'd expect the people outside the Ace Cafe either just have lots of money or use race scrubs, £80 for a pair of tyres which have been used for 1 race. Smile

At least one guy at Streetfighter Sunday was using them, cos he had the silly red ones... on a hornet or a bandit as I recall.
