I have tried to get a rusted bolt off my engine that is seized on. So far I have tried mole grips, lots of WD-40, sledgehammer, normal hammer. I have also tried to drill a hole in the bolt in the other side and try and turn it by putting the thread in the hole and trying to turn it with a spanner but this just wipes the thread out. I then put a nut in the hole and then tried to whack it with the sledge hammer but this eventually bent the nut. It just won't shift. Any ideas are welcome

Is there a nut on one end, or is there a thread in the frame / engine mount?

On your pic, can you highlight where there is a thread? Wink

Thumbs Up

The nut was kindly angle grinded off by the break as I assume he could not remove it as you can see on the right side of the picture. It is actually ment to slide all the way through the frame and engine on both sides with spacers in between and there is thread on the end to tighten it.

It is on the left side of the picture where it comes out of the frame.

So, the frame has a tread also cut in it!?

Hmmm! Like Klause said, lots of heat, hit it with a hammer to loosen the rust, dont put alot of stress on it trying to turn it or you will just end up rounding the head off.

Only other way is to drill it out, then re-cut the thread if need be.
