I was thinking about getting some of those ultra bright LED indicators.

Are thay a straight swap or is some tinkering with the electrics needed?

Anybody got them? How much did they set you back and are they worth it?

Thanks Smile

Because of the voltage difference a common fault is that, depending on the age of the bike, they flash too fast. There is an another aftermarket blackbox that you insert and this corrects the flash rate.

Just done a google - Acument do a blackbox if it's required - click here for info.

I wonder what the flash rate is? My current ones flash too fast anyway so im not too fussed about that. I think for an MOT it must be no more than 120 flashes per minute.

Correct. MOT failure = not flashing at 60 to 120 flashes per minute

I remember when changed my stock indicators on my ex-RS250 to aftermarket brighter ones, I had to buy a new higher wattage flasher unit, it cost £7 from my local bike shop and was simply a case of unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one.

I spent a good 25 mins looking over the manual looking for the flasher unit with no joy, before a mate pointed out i could just turn on the indicators and listen for the clicking sound the unit made! Embarassed
